Shields snipe on charts

Did BWD last night and buzzed through to Nefarian, made a couple of attempts, which were my first real tries, and then called it.

I was asked first if I had a dps spec, which no I do not. So that meant another healer wanted to go. That ticked me off a little to start. I’m disc and holy. I was asked if I could go disc and I said fine. During the Omnotron right I was asked if I went disc and I was probably a little testy when I answered yes because you told me to. Then Seyfer and Arkwin pm’d me saying I was healing a lot better and such. I’m sure it just looked better on the charts; I wasn’t doing any more healing than in holy, and it felt like I was actually doing less. It probably just looked good because I was spamming prayer of healing which ticks off Divine Aegis on several people and makes my numbers jump. I had around 10k healing this time around but let’s be honest, no one was ever dying when I was on holy either, unless it was a mistake of some kind.

I prefer holy in raids because I can renew, CoH on the run, and I like my speedy bubble and guardian spirit. Pain suppression is crap compared to that IMO, and pw barrier is bleh too. I liked it better when it was just a giant PW shield. To cap the night off one of the other guys said something about getting that disc priest they said is so good, so I honestly felt like I’m on the verge of being kicked out of the raid group for someone else.

Yesterday I mentioned to Rexe that I was in WG alone and he came along. We defended the fort no problem since I think there was only a horde warlock running around.

The next time we had 5 active people, and the battle was quite fun that time, with horde having instant sieges, and managed to break into the inner courtyard.  I had help from a paladin and 2 warlocks breaking up the vehicles, and the warrior was taking down the towers.  The warlocks shadowed me nearly the entire raid so we had no issues even busting up 3-4 sieges that rolled in at regular intervals.

I had also noticed earlier that Rexe had a cute little pet cub, which he told me you can get in Winterspring, so I went and got one.

It sits down after a while, and will fall asleep if you are idle too long.  I have noticed though that if it sleeps, you have to walk quite a distance away before it “wakes up” and comes back to you.

At night we ran a few battlegrounds with guildies, Pala, Apollo, Alex, Acks, and Tet I think, and got IoC twice, won on, lost one.  This just made me laugh out loud.

After that I ran the new instance, ZG with Seanjohn and Fist.  Fist seems to have a bit of the “go go” impatience that I don’t care for in instances.  He need rolled on two wands that were only slightly worse than the one I spend 3 months raiding to get.  That burns a little.  I had read in forums that some healers didn’t need to use flash heal AT ALL in these dungeons/raids but yeah, lies.  I did hit that coveted “14k heals” mark on the poison boss though.

If we had 2 healers for some reason, I wouldn’t have since I try to work with the other healer and not just spam the charts.  We got that instance done, even though we went through like 4 tanks.

After that I grouped up with Rexe’s group in ZA, and for the first time went in their vent and heard everyone.  That run was pretty rough, and we were not able to get down the boss that transforms into animals.  We kept getting the lynx and the enraged swipe thing it did, there was no outhealing it, at all.  Putting guardian spirit on the person wasn’t enough, the boss would rip through that and still kill the player.  The only way we managed to survive it was to throw guardian spirit AND the paladins hand of protection but of course the next time they did it, we were out of CDs.  We wiped on that a number of times then it was too late and we stopped.

I had at least 200g in repairs for a run that I really don’t need anything from. I think they need to tone it down A LITTLE since from a healing stand point, at this time, it’s harder than normal mode Chimaeron.

ZA use to be a real problem

Tried to queue for ZA today on my mage, because I want that new robe. But like my other groups, we wiped on trash over and over, wiped on the boss, wiped on trash, etc. It’s not fun at all. To me it’s like worse than raiding. So I waited 30 mins to queue in, only to have people repeatedly leave the group, to get a single boss down. We ended up with 2 people dead, one who went afk, and the other who wouldn’t let me kick the afker. I was so mad and just gave up.

Changes to the Tol Barad Guards again

Tonight I queued with Leonz and got one of the new instances, uh, whatever one Hakkar use to be at. I can thank Arashikage, even though I haven’t seen him in ages, for taking me through here before it was ever revamped.

We got the first boss down ok, with me doing about 9k heals (any more would have been stupid), but the boss where Hakkar use to be, we died over and over from the same mistake, repeatedly, which was me getting targeted by 10 mobs and dying instantly. After about 5 deaths I said I quit and left party. It was late, and having 60g in repairs or whatever from a damn instance pissed me off.

The TB guards have been buffed, so if someone attacks you from range, near the guards, they will run out and kick their ass double quick. I found this one when Ladiesman was standing a safe distance from them, and I tossed a SW pain on him, and they shot him, netted him, and beat him to death. So apparently they don’t even have to touch you, for the guards to pay attention. Very nice, I like it. I did not MEAN to get him killed though I honestly had no idea that was tweaked.

Besides that I am noticing some annoying little issues in the new instances and in general. If I am moving and stop, and try to cast a heal or something, half of the time it tells me I can’t do it while moving even though I’ve already stopped. It does this sometimes even when I am just turning my view around. Also when I died and went into SoR, a few times I either couldn’t cast any heals at all because it said I was OOM, it said the skill wasn’t ready yet, or it let me crack off one flash heal, then the buttons did nothing afterwards and I just hung there like a dope until the spirit ran out. Between that and dying so much through no fault of my own (or Leonz for that matter) I got irritated and logged out.

Problim in the Alliance Camp

I had an epic TIE game in Twin Peaks where I solo killed a mage and a hunter myself as well.

Last night we tried Heroic Halfus but only gave it 2 tries, then buzzed all the way through to Cho’gall, and I finally got my healing offhand from the Ascendant Council, and got my T11 shoulders, for my 4pc bonus, from Cho’gall.

The shoulders are still ugly.   I was told again my healing is too low, again with comments prior to Cho’gall that we would never be able to heal it unless we had such and such disc healer, etc.  After the raid I was asked to talk to that healer, who doesn’t play holy, so I don’t see how that would help.  I did redo my spec slightly, removing talents that don’t matter any more like the one that lowers the reuse on chakra, and changed two glyphs to have more charges on lightwell, and the 60% boost to the first ping of prayer of mending.

I sent Zukk, that orc unholy DK a message on my horde, with my usual “damn you’re a beast huh” message on it.  They replied that it’s nice to get a good message and not the usual “u suck” stuff.

At my last TB I also ran into Soundwave, a horde paladin I use to see in WG a lot, and also Shayo, who I haven’t seen since WG I think either.
