Vengeful Druid

Today we did normal Firelands since we still do not have a Rag kill. I like these fights!  We were trying out a new healer to have them join the guild, a pally named Virstena.  I don’t know much about pally healing but their heals were on par with what I was putting out.

Our druid though, gosh, I just don’t know.  My druid healer is only 44 at this point so I’m not going to pretend to be any kind of expert, but across the board their heals were on the low side and typically came in as the lowest on each fight.  After Rhyolith we lost a dps, so the druid said we can 9 man Alysrazor. I said “9 man with 3 healers, lol” and they asked why that was funny.  Beeeeeecause you don’t need 3 heals, so you are basically running with 4 dps? Besides that obvious bit of information you mean?

I didn’t actually say anything sarcastic like that I just said it’s easily 2 healable so being short 2 dps seemed kind of harsh.  That fight I did not see them do hardly any healing, my recount only showed about 2k hps but I thought maybe I was just too far out of range.

Then on Majordomo, apparently they chose to just do nothing that fight.  They did not dps, they did not heal.  First I thought my recount was broken because I saw no heals going off, then I focus targeted them and saw their mana bar not only not moving at all, but no spells at all were going off.  They were stacking and spreading so they weren’t locked, or dc’d. I sent them a message about their lack of doing anything and just got an “oh”. I went completely oom by the end of this fight with no available cd’s to do anything about it.

They had 0 dps and 0 hps until the very very end of the fight. Like when the boss died. After that fight they dropped raid and logged out.  I don’t get it, maybe it was some angry version of making me prove it could be two healed?   But I meant with a full 10 man raid, with everyone actively participating, not 9 people with 1 doing nothing. No one expects to 2 heal an 8 person raid.  We did get him down but what the fuck.

I won these shoulders for transmog though, they are AWESOME for my masterwork set.

Bungling around

I start randomly bungling around again since I’m not sure where I should be going, and end up finding a newbie helper and some more quests.  However it still only seems I am leveling up by killing mobs and the quests barely move my exp bar, at all. The NPCs all seem rather angry and all all yelling, being insulting and such.

At one point I find old Magister Gallant  demoted to standing outside the “administration offices”.  That doesn’t sounds very fantasy like to me.

Mobs are dropping a little bit of adena and pots but I still have not seen a single DROP.  Not even worthless stuff I could vendor for a bit of money.

My character name, as it has in warcraft, has sparked a conversation with a player named SrDerp who was attempting to help me with the game.  I asked leading questions about dungeons and battlegrounds which he says this game has,  but did not understand me when I asked how to queue for them, even after explaining how WoW does it.

I also mention the utter lack of armor upgrades I’ve seen on quests or mobs and he said you really don’t have to worry about gear.  Well ok then good. I also asked about raids and he told me to youtube Freya, and I asked what level you have to be for that.  He didn’t know, said he never killed her. I asked if he tried it before and he said no.  Clearly I know Freya is extremely high level, but I was looking for an answer like “why yes you can do dungeons at 10 and raids at 50” or something.

I was also told this game is a lot better than others, but they either could not explain in what way, or they were not a native English speaker and didn’t understand what I was asking.  I find out later they are from Brazil so that explains that.  I ported to Dark Elven Village and roam around, finding the area completely different.

Today was pretty good on the battleground scene, won a WSG so good we had horde camped at their GY

Then when Acks was not available to do 2’s when he originally said he would, I picked up Alexmx and OMFG FINALLY “JUST THE TWO OF US 1550”

It’s rather depressing it took me this long but partners were so random and repeatedly just stopped logging in, so yeah omg I’m thrilled!

When Bad Players gquit

Ran LFR with the priest, thought I won nothing but it turns out I won Bracers of the Banished, and didn’t even notice! Derp! After that ran dungeons to cap with Lila, Alexmx, and Rob, who we use to run arena with way way back in the day.

Checked the guild calendar on the shaman and for whatever reason Bellaluna left and joined another guild, and well as Juble. Someone that accepts raids and never shows, isn’t exactly a loss, but it’s a little bothersome after basically helping them to play better.

Kerigor

Our priest did not show up, again, for our DS raid so we pugged a priest named Kerigor who was disc.

They were geared, and a good healer, but made the overall raid quite unpleasant with little sniping comments people found annoying.  Usually we joke and talk a lot but this person seemed to dampen the entire mood and vent stayed basically quiet.  We were told we should 2 heal the first boss (repeatedly), asked multiple times if there was a cauldron after we said no, comments about the tentacle trash being done wrong, how he was top heals, etc etc.  Being told to do things better isn’t annoying in itself but it was just the way it was said, to the point that Jynx raged at him about leaving if he didn’t like it.  Oddly enough he did not leave.

He was insistent we also 2 heal Ultraxion so I was like sure we can try.  We did get it down though, with him dpsing since the druid and I have no dps spec.  Pretty tired of Vanq tokens at this point though, between DS10 and LFR I’ve seen at least 10 of them drop, no joke.

Blackhorn trash went poorly and we called it after that point.
