As I had called it back in MV, Hotbrass quit the guild to go with Beta Testing and got 3/12 pretty much right away. But, good. I expected that. He talked a lot of elite stuff but often died to simple mechanics, random afk’d and even fell asleep last Tuesday during a raid. I sensed from pretty much the beginning he wanted to leave and find something better.
Dominate Mind
Just need bracers for full malv. I seem to be doing well on the priest, did some random bgs and such and my survivability seems nice. Dominate mind is also pretty sweet and fast cast though it seems to break almost instantly. Granted I was trying to use it on a bridge in AV with a rush of horde coming in, so I may have to also test it elsewhere. But oh, how I missed that skill.
Went back to WhisperWind
Moved my druid off Tich to WW and renamed her from Klickers to Coquette, which had been my monks name. Deleted the monk. I am adoring druid healing especially in pvp where I have nice utility and more importantly, escape skills. It feels nice to outrun warriors.
My priest seems pretty ok for pvp but I’ve been taking a bit of a break on that. I should get my full malv though.
5.2 Disc
5.2 dropped and it’s official, I give up pvping as disc. I’m done. Phantasm nerf, psyfiend nerf, DA nerf, crit nerf, pvp set bonus nerf, FDCL nerf to an already horrid spec just sealed it for me. I’ll level the druid, mobility and utility, huzzah.
Last night we got down Jin’rokh after maybe 5 attempts. Hotbrass kept random afking without saying anything. The “bridge boss” trash was pretty brutal.
I took a holy spec since Angey kept saying dps in chakra was incredible, but a few days ago we did a 5 man dungeon together and we were the same most of the time or I beat her by quite a bit. Didn’t believe that anyway.
This boss was pretty fun even though we never got very far.
We were having a nerdy discussion how this raid layout feels Zelda Ocarina of Time-ish, and Nilvana mentioned one of the weapons looked “like a snitch” so they kept playing the “NEEEEERDS!!!” sound wave in the background.
Disc has been nerfed in pve so that PoH doesn’t auto give DA and it only shows up on a crit. Which means you can pop inner focus and apply it to one group and get around a 90k absorb but stacking DA will be impossible now. Take a shielding classes shields away, awesome. I still healed ok but you can only take getting F’d in the A so much before you say FUCK THIS. And I never PoH spammed anyway. Well. Except on heroic Garajal I suppose, or when I needed DA. But wasn’t a one button wonder.
Noob Dungeons
Healing 5 mans on my druid has been pretty amusing lately. I was chaining dungeons and here’s a few of them.
UK – DK tank is so bad it’s like trying to heal a mage tanking. Gets killed in a global and blames me. Group points out he’s not holding aggro for shit and isn’t in mitigation gear. He calls one of them a fag, I said “he goes or I go IDC” and they kick the tank.
UK again, another DK. His tanking is ok but he’s SO SLOW I don’t even care when the hunter starts pulling and tell him I’ll keep him healed. I normally don’t fuss about slow tanks but I’m talking 20 seconds between every god damn pull. The tank is all “blah blah do you tank?” and I’m like no but it shouldn’t be this damn slow. He gets kicked by me for “OMG SLOW”.
Nexus, warrior tank leaves immediately. We start clearing without a tank. Pally tank shows up, I throw lifebloom on him, he runs back to the start and after a few mins, leaves. DK tank comes up, and bypassing the first boss until we call him back. Nearly bypasses the second boss. Would have walked past the third boss if it wasn’t blocking the way. Guy claimed he was an engineer IRL and I said “please don’t tell me you build houses or bridges”. At the rock boss he commented “he would’ve been turned to paper sooner or later anyway”
The other druid points out the boss was a rock, not a tree.
Got a warrior tank at the next UK, named Worthlessowl-Draenor, who was so epic I asked him to marry me. Was pulling non stop, without taking barely any damage, while practically soloing the mobs. I just kind of stood back and stared.
Then the final attempt that night, UK again, a DK who was ok but kept beefing at the hunter for some reason. Couldn’t kick the guy for “2 hours”. Geez. The tank and I stood back while the rest of the party cleared the final hallway and the last boss without us. Oh well.
