Pus Ball of Snot Boogers

Did some herb farming today, ran all my Tol Barad quests, and at least one battle, and I think by tomorrow I should be exalted with Baradin Hold.  I need like 30 more badges to get that drake though.  I was going to get the trinket first, but it’ll be easier to get up to like 125 badges then start over again up to 200.  Plus I’m tired of the bronze drake.

I was going to hold out until the patch to make flasks but I caved and used my entire bag of herbs and then some and made about twenty.  People that do things for me get them for free, friends that do not reciprocate get a discount. A girl has to be pay her raid costs some how!

It took like an hour and a half but we got the golem bosses down. I win the epic ring, Security Measure Alpha. I like that name! Sure beats “Pus Ball of Snot Boogers” like from ICC.

Oh and we hit guild level 10 during this as well!

I wouldn’t decorate my place in dead dragons, personally.

but despite the fight being called a tank and spank, it’s not quite that easy and we don’t get it.  But it’s late and we call it after a few tries.

Time Zones

Spent some time NOT getting into Tol Barad farming Jasmine while waiting for the raid.  We got Magmaw down again after 3 tries, and the mage weapon dropped again and a tank piece, I think it was. It was not-cloth at any rate.  The weapon was accidently DE’d, much to Lladins chagrin I am sure. I had this happen at Onyxia one too, like a year ago, they “forgot” they had a mage with them and DE’d that Netherwind Crown, but the GMs did restore it.

I tank healed this again, but it doesn’t feel very tankish when I have aoe heals going off too.

Next is some Omnitrom Defense System thing, all ‘council’ like and stuff. Blizzard, seriously, jazz up the golem models a little bit.

Anyway like the first boss we wipe repeatedly but make progress each time, and at the last attempt we get it to around 30%, I believe.  I seem to be the only one that has to leave, at midnight, but yeah, I have to be up at 6 am.

Rathrak, the Poisonous Mind

Got pretty lucky on the last LFR and Gorgor went with me on his priest, won Ring of the Riven on Hagara, then won Rathrak, the Poisonous Mind from Madness. Apparently it sort of sucks, hard. It has a poison proc rather than haste/crit hit/haste or some other things, and it rarely triggers and when it does the damage is meh. I tried it on end time and it only accounting for 2% of my damage, or around 90k. For some reason I didn’t have an off hand to use with it either so ended up buying a pvp one.

I forgot which day it was, but Stout and I got epic gloves drop off Tank, the shark, in Tol Barad.  I gave them to my mage since they were suited for a nuker class more.  So now we both have 1 purple item.

I ran Tol Barad quite a bit the other day, and it seems like a lot of our problems are people not understanding the fight at all.  I keep explaining it as, it’s like Arathi if all the bases were already taken and your side has to take and hold them, all at once.  But over a much larger map.  I see Rayzo quite a bit in these battles, and I wave and such but I’m not sure he remembers who I am.

Today we start off doing Baradin’s Hold, which reminds me quite a bit of the cell-like area that raid boss in Rune Castle, in L2, was kept.  Someone takes out a Guild Page who, unlike the previous squires, looks adult.  I also buy one and get the pets achievement.  Someone says something about having a ‘man toy’ and I joke “that’s how I likes ’em” and say it would be even funnier if it was under “mounts” rather than companions.

Before the raid we get to try out the goblin bbq thing, which seems a little steep in mat cost to keep putting out.

I could have sworn I took a screenshot of the boss, but it’s not in my folder so I guess I did not.

Afterwards we ran Blackwing Descent and shortly after midnight, finally killed Magmaw.  I started off as a raid healer then got put on tank duty.  Still with the tricks holy gets disc shields, which recently got boosted, would have to be pretty good to get past Chakra and such.

It dropped two epics, a leather thing and a mage dagger.  I think a loot council works better than just rolls, which is what this guild is doing, since it takes into account attendance, raid performance, etc.  Having someone show up for the first time,   be annoying and win something over a person that is there all the time, is not really fair.

Bastion of Twilight

Soo yeah catching up, I ran some arenas with Janusz to get the max points for the week.  Warlocks suck and frost mages are bullshit.  Learning the pvp dance again will be something to do though.

Last night we tried the Twilight Bastion raid and repeatedly die around 1-2 minutes into the first fight.

there was much harping around needing to know the fight, which is a no brainer, but we all know that these hard fights also need to be experienced and you need to click as a team. You can watch all the videos you want but seeing and knowing, and doing and knowing are two different things.  So, we got nowhere but that was not surprising.  Look at what a mess the bosses in ICC were to begin with,  and most of those required no cc, and much less TEAM cooperation. And those people that got it on 25 heroic already? I wouldn’t want to get anything that fast personally.
