What do raid clears feel like, I forgot

Sigh.  So!  Even though we had 9/10 guildies and were only missing Nilvana, and even though we said we were trying heroics, SJ decided we would NOT do heroics, because Nilvana was gone.  The paladin healer we pugged was doing fine, it wasn’t heals.  We wiped on Halfus at least once, the dragons at least once.. I mean, the nights are starting to blur together.  Anyway about an hour and a half into it, we got to the Ascendant Council and wiped over and over and over.  People getting others killed with lightning rod, the DK dying repeatedly every fight by not getting the air buff, etc.  It wasn’t heals.

Oh, and I got thrown into the lava, by the stairs, for the first time EVER.

Do you remember, when we use to clear 9/12, or close to it, in one night? I know, me neither.

Trinkets

Last night we started late, because it was scheduled at 8:45, and didn’t pull until around 9:15. Since we end at 11, this seems to late for me, but whatever. Because of this we tried heroic Maloriak twice, then did it on normal, then tried Heroic Atramedes twice, then the pug paladin (Ladegaga) logged and we called it around 11.

Maloriak dropped the Jar of Ancient Remedies which is the first time I’ve seen it, and I’m still crabby about needing to use a roll system, with pugs in the group. Not seeing an item for like 5 months and maybe losing it to a pug, is dumb. They said it’s not that good but I wanted to try it over my Mandala of Stirring Patterns. I should get a DMC Tsunami but, well, maybe later.

My earlier crabbiness about raids is mostly tied to the premise that, I don’t want my game time wasted. If we’re not doing Cho’gall, Alakir, Nefarion, and not trying heroics, I don’t want to raid any more. I’ve done normals for months, I don’t want to do them any more. And taking an hour or more to form up, where I am forced to sit in raid, and not do dailies, is just wasting my free time. But I’ve decided if the RL won’t call it, I’ll just call it for myself. If we aren’t pulling by 30 mins after the starting time, I’m gonna log and do something else.

Ballsy yeah I know I have no gear DUH

Tonight we had a fun run scheduled but I ended up more stressed than anything.  We took over an hour to fill the group, and while waiting I was looking up gear for guildies.  One was missing an enchant as a shaman and was missing 4 mail pieces.  Another was missing 5 glyphs, another 3 glyphs, and a few had under the requested 355 item level, by more than a few points.  Another was like 343 ilevel and known to have bad dps just from dungeons.  So, good times.

The shaman we brought is also known for being bad, and they did not help themselves by repeatedly saying, in raid no less, things like “I’m lagging a bunch”, “I’ve never healed this before”, “I don’t know these fights at all” etc.  We had a real ass  shaman from guild Void named Coolaid, something I think, who was continually snotty in vent, but did accurately point out that said shaman was misgeared, to which we gave her standard ballsy reply of “yeah I know I’m here for gear” which is the same thing she said in a ZG run when people busted on her terrible dps.  They also had terrible healing at 5k overall and per fight. Anyway the people that did not know the twin dragon fight didn’t speak up, we wiped the first attempt, and when the second one went poorly the guy logged out mid raid.  Ass.  He was the kind that doesn’t say anything during a fight to help out but speaks up after the fact, which to me is just too late.

We got up to Ascendant Council but people didn’t know that fight, combined with the terrible healing and dps, we tried twice and quit.  I did end up with Book of Binding Will, but I’d rather spend my limited time playing getting very little done, doing something else. I am enjoying the tricks of a mage again though, popping out of stuns to do interupts and such.  I need to make a stop casting macro for my counterspell though.

Don’t arena in blues

We were supposed to do Cho’gall tonight but once again we didn’t have enough people, ended up having a meeting for an hour, and went to do other things. I ran some dungeons on my shaman, a little upset about the hour lost again, then tried some 2v2’s with a paladin in guild named Ticktockdead. We lost every fight, even though they lasted quite a long time. He was in mostly 333 or 346 PVE blues, so that explains that.

Loot Drama

Last night we ran BoT, and had a few key members not show up. Peejay helped me out by coming on his disc priest, and brought a mage from his guild. So rather than clearing almost all of BWD and BoT like I did on my mage on Friday, we spent 3 hours getting 3 bosses down and not getting Cho’gall. I’m not even sure why we tried. I got wrecked by the adds repeatedly which took me from 10 corruption up to 70 fast each time, and at 8 and a half minutes, we didn’t even have him down yet.

Had what I felt was a bit of a squabble over gear and raid times too. That staff of mending dropped and PJ won the roll but let it go to one of my guildies instead. Well it ended up dropping again, and he previously said he wasn’t listening in vent because he had guild drama to handle. Well I felt it should have gone to him since he wanted it earlier, but gave up his winning roll. Instead SJ did an open roll, which he won and when I objected, oh, it was annoying. I was told PJ needed to say he wanted it, which I said he did, I was told he needed to ask for it in vent, to which I already said he was dealing with things, etc. We spent like 20 minutes arguing about the damn staff and I was ticked off. I also don’t want to raid extra days when we have to cancel a night because of no-shows. I was there, ready to go, if we didn’t run I don’t want to add another day. Just saying.
