Saxomophone

Tonight I decided to try the raid finder. I got a group pretty fast, but they were like 98% from Ragnaros which is all Spanish speakers, I believe.  Anyway I couldn’t understand any of it, we wiped, I left.  I came in at 3/8 anyway and I wanted a fresh raid.

Queued for another, only waited a few minutes, and got the first boss down no problem.

The raid leaders name, as you might note, is Saxomophone, which is awesome and I told him (I assume) so.  And yes it was a Simpsons reference.

Wiped once on the second then got it down, lost both rolls on loot I wanted.  But when like 20 people are rolling on tokens what can you do. All the fights were explained well and movements announced via raid warnings.

239elleria

We got all the bosses down, I was top dps on pretty much all the fights.

But get this, this one DK? Won EVERY SINGLE TIER TOKEN.  He won shoulders, pants, and gloves.  THREE FUCKING TOKENS TO THE SAME PERSON.  Yes I know, random is random, but when does that ever happen? Gosh.

Talked a bit with the Saxomophone person, who is on the Sargeras server, complimented their raid leading and such. Turns out it’s that guilds, guild master.  Anyway got a nice “hit us up if you are on our server” at the end.

Fail Firelands

Tried to do Rag last night with Ralidens Family Crypt people but we failed at the first hammer pretty much for 2 hours. I wasn’t terribly concerned about lack of progress and basically spent the time talking with Ladiesman. BUT. We had three healers but I was having difficulties keeping my mp up, having to resort to flash heals quite a bit to hit people that were low and not being brought up very quickly, while also putting out about 50% of the heals on the tanks. I’m also very use to hearing whoever is popping the traps to call it out before it hits, and neither mage was doing that, and they were sometimes popped when people were low on health and once even brought the tank down to 10% with a trap hit.

We survived the hammer once I think, but died shortly after when most people were not in place for seeds or grouping for the big hammer. Oh well, was something to do I guess. Next patch soon!

Rag Kill

Um let’s see, I did get a Rag kill with VoW, but I asked prior if I had any “chance in hell” at gear.  But, nothing good dropped anyway.

Well I can’t take all the credit for this, Tharus was helping to tank him XD

Did some, ‘world pvp’ outside of the TB bridge a bit and apparently Cassio is my near twin!

230elleria

There was a shaman named Skinless who did a lot of spitting, laughing, and waving goodbye to me lately, not sure if it’s someone I know or not.

Cassio

Got in a Domo raid the other night, with, siiiigh, 2 other mages.   However when Raliden, on his alt, mentioned something about the other mages objecting I laughed and said knowing mages at least one will rage quit.  And one by the name of Torch or something like that, did rage quit after our 2nd wipe.  Cassio did me a favor and came in and we got it down, and I properly rolled crappy and didn’t win my shoulders.

226elleria

Then I went on to try Rag with VoW (I know, I know) but we wiped like 5-6 times before it was called.  I had 2nd or 3rd highest dps and I feel I can dps any of the fights now.

227elleria

Nothing of note really today other than helping a hunter, who was trying to solo thsose elite mini bosses in firelands, to get that achievement for killing them all.

228elleria

which got me the achievement as well.  Since the hunter was pulling a whopping 5k dps, Cassio again came in and helped out, and even then it was pretty close a few times.

Hardmode Ulduar

Did a hardmode 25m Ulduar achievement/transmog run last night.  I’ve only seen a few of the fights in here since I started during Wrath, when that content wasn’t done any more.  There was a druid by the name of Flardoran who wasn’t in vent, and being randomly rude in chat, saying we were fail and that kind of thing.

219elleria

Anyway I found the fights interesting and new, since most of them I have not seen outside of the ones you had to do for those weekly raids back in Wrath, but those were limited to Razorscale, Flame Leviathan, and that furnance guy if I remember right.

220elleria

The invite didn’t specify “must know fights” but there seemed to be a little bit of eye rolling over not knowing them in advance and the assumption that some of us think you can just faceroll all mechanics, which I know is not the case, and something I am glad you cannot do.

221elleria

I almost wish I was around when this content was new because it seems quite a bit different than where I came in at to begin with.  Giants and robots?  Lineage 2 ad similar lore with Cruma Tower and Giants Cave so the theme has probably seen a lot of use.

222elleria

During the next fight, someone posted an achievement where you had to not get hit by any of the shadow crashes.  Someone said we would most assuredly fail on this, which I seemed kind of pessimistic until I watched another druid, Knuggy, take a full face of a crash without making the slightest attempt to move.  So, yeah.

223elleria

This fight I’d almost like to see in newer content.  You could not regen mp, at all.  No evo, mana gems, nothing.  As arcane needless to say, I was wanding it most of the fight.  I don’t know what I would have done on my priest, all Heals maybe?

We tried Yogg  but as one of the tanks pointed out, certain people (like that druid again) appeared to be purposely bathing in the green clouds, and I died the first attempt when I got the brain link, was snatched up by a tentacle, and died there a few seconds later.

224elleria

We put in 2 attempts then people started dropping.  I think we only had 15 people, maybe a few more, but it just goes back to people having the worse patience ever sometimes. My rolls have continued to be awesome, rolled a 10 on a tailoring recipe I wanted, rolled an 88 on a dagger I wanted but still lost to a 94.  Good stuff. I was glad to see all these fights though, I can’t get over how much content is in the game that I’ve completely missed.
