Hamburger?! Where?!

The other day Dontpuntme helped me level up my tailoring from around 488 to 515.  This may not found like a lot but it was a significant amount of cloth and Volatiles that would have taken me forever to farm, along with everyone else who was helping me, or probably 2k gold. I also traded 100 Elementium with Cinor for around 90 cloth.  I can create my own pvp gear, which is awesome, and a 36 slot herb bag.  Dontpuntme let me keep the bag and 2 of the pvp pieces, which was nice. Of course I did promise like my first 2 weeks of full Dreamcloth making to him as well.

And, I love trade chat, I really do.  I laughed, I couldn’t help it.

I  tried going out to Vashj’ir to farm cloth, and back to Hyjal, but the drop rate is really miserable and I made about 3 bolts (15 cloth) before I gave up in frustration.

I also head back out to Silithus to turn in this quest I’ve been hauling around since I did AQ, the original one,  with Arashikage.

105elleria

I spent some money on cloth in the AH and nearly have tailoring at max, woo!

Leap of Faith

Today was basically not an enjoyable day FOR PVP. I spent most of the afternoon discussing my talents and gear with Janusz, and ran a few bgs where we got destroyed repeatedly. Not a single win.

We messed around with Leap of Faith, which I shall hereby be calling “life grip” and testing at what range you can pull a person around.  You can’t pull them off buildings, or up to buildings anyway.

I then play around with that disguise potion I get, and it seems it will mirror whoever you have targeted and I mirror Rawrn (Nilvana).

319ocyla

Later I get in a Tol Barad and I learn that whoever owns it will always own it, due to how it works, unless you get in at like 3 am where few people are queued and most are afk.  Apparently you need to control and cap for 3 minutes 3 bases and with even player sides that is almost impossible, because one side can just gang up and wipe one area at a time and prevent the attackers from splitting into three and defending against that.

I get into this late but manage to locate Janusz and more or less keep in touch during the battle.

320ocyla

I guess I’m high enough for heroics now and I immediately get a queue from Grim Batol, we wipe on the first boss and they say they are giving up and boot me so I won’t have the deserter buff.  Ok.  Then I get heroic VP and I absolutely cannot keep up with the amount of damage being dished out and taken.  It’s impossible.  We wipe on trash twice, then wipe on the first boss.  The tank, who I can barely keep up throwing everything I got at him (whose fault that is I am not sure) tells me to “heal better”.  I snot back “take less damage”.  We die again on that boss and I say fuck this and leave.

I queue for normal dungeons and run Halls of Origination, we wipe twice but get it done, finally.  That group wasn’t too bad honestly.

321ocyla

I like when this boss puts up the shield, it’s very epic looking and the sound effects are awesome.  It’s very otherworldly sounding.

Lost City of the Tol’vir

Last night I queued up for a random while out herb-ing, and first got The Lost City of the Tol’vir.  The group was commenting about how bad the last healer was, so I was wary at the start.  It didn’t get any better when they constantly compared their dps, took me down to 30% mp every trash pull, and didn’t get the adds off me on the alligator boss thing and I died.  After I had been dead about 20 seconds I got “lol heals?” and I said I was dead, stupid, and they were like oh didn’t see that.  After another wipe on trash after the tank pulled ahead while I was low on mp and drinking, I left the party.

Next one up was Grim Batol with a very good group, coordinating CC and everything and the run went well.  I got a new cloak and pants during that.

The last one for the night was Halls of Origination which I have not done before, a guild run.

315ocyla

Naturally that went well, and I got a new trinket and boots.  Here is a remodeled Lord Marrowgar.

316ocyla

and one of the Egyptian-like “AQ” bosses.

Ding 85

Today I set out in Hyjal again to try to get my rep up a bit.  On the way over there I noticed this giant tornado, and you can see trees, and I swear I saw a cow or two, swirling around in it.

300ocyla

And I know I already did this quest, but rogues are funny, I love it!

301ocyla

Later on in the chain I become neutral to the cult ogre things here when an image of me comes out of the torches thingies and declares me master.

302ocyla

When I head back to Royce Duskwhisper I note a classic line of “Good work, very good, I supposed that’s a valuable lesson:  Never to take orders from a big purple ball.” LOL

The “Save the Wee Animals” and their wee little friends quest was funny too.  You scoop up the woodland critters out of the burning forest then lead a deer back to safety. Well, deers.

303ocyla

Then this guy, he’s just trouble.

304ocyla

After the quest chain ends, as far as I can tell, with freeing an evil satyr looking thing, I head out to Twilight Highlands on the advice of Janusz on getting more exp.  I some how let a dwarf convince me to be shot in a cannon up to a ship, amoung other things.   Then I head out to a boat where the crew are taken in by some kind of Siren coming out of the water.

305ocyla

and almost all of the crew suffer poor side effects from that.

306ocyla

A few more quests in and I’m at around 60% to 85.

I decide to queue for WG, and get in with 4 other people.  For the first 10 minutes, NOTHING happens.  I don’t see any other players, horde or alliance.   It makes me quite sick to see this place so empty.  We end up  beating back the few horde that did show up, and take down the towers and win.  Still, I miss mass pvp here a lot.

I continue with my questing in Twilight Highlands and queue for a dungeon and get VP.  It is a guild group run and we do pretty ok, but they post recount stats constantly and analyze it Leroy Jenkins-like after each pull.

After that it’s back to questing and I help put out the fires at Firebeard’s Patrol.

307ocyla

and pick some mementos out of the fire.

308ocyla

I then run a very very slow Stonecore, and two people die at the giant boss, because they weren’t avoiding the slam, but slowly we finish it.  I end at 76% and I’m too tired to finish tonight.

Scaling at beginning of an expansion…

So yeah, healing? WTF?  My shadow protection buff costs 8k mp, that’s 15% of my total mp pool.  I can cast about 10-15 greater heals before I’m flat out of MP.  Yes, that is not a normal rotation, as if a disc priest really has one, but at 4k per cast it’s ridiculous.

Besides all that, wow! I finished Vashj’ir today! Well, first I started out in Hyjal to get my rep up to friendly so I could take the tabard.  There is some good healing gear to be had at exalted. This quest was kind of cute with the fairy dragons helping you find stealthed cultists by feeding them berries.  Find I have Herbalism I can see the berries on my map.

283ocyla

back in Vashj’ir I pick up where I left off which is going down into the Abyss area and killing this guy, who created an evil copy of me and summoned those black boiling pools of mess under me a few times.

284ocyla

After he was dead I took his brain, I think it was, and headed back up to Captain Taylor and they give me a new… hat thing.

285ocyla

This is to be used to communicate with L’ghorek which is like a giant mollusk sea creature thing.  Sea animals seem to be a reoccurring thing, like the Cruma turtle like shells in Lineage 2, and the lion turtles in Avatar the Last Airbender.  The “cartoon” not the movie…

So I head into that creature and it looks like it’s in real trouble.

286ocyla

I communicate with it at the brain area and it tells me it is dying, but we have some tasks to do first.

287ocyla

This area has an interesting set up like in this shot the bodies hovering above the altar fly off towards the center to the boss in the middle.

288ocyla

After rescuing some prisoners, collecting rune stones, destroying the altar things, I get to control an elemental.

289ocyla

The vortex skill was quite cool, being able to draw in like 50 mobs and nuke them was wild.  In pvp that would be funny assumed you didn’t die straight away!

I get in on the boss kill with another player who is already attacking it.  I can’t see who it it because they are summoned but I’m not losing a chance of getting the quest on technicalities.  Afterwards I get to ride the thing out of here.

290ocyla

Afterward we take the submarine, but unfortunately shortly after it starts I get booted off the server and miss some of it as I am logging back in.

291ocyla

It then cut scenes to a battle of elementals against the Faceless things the naga are allied with.

292ocyla

and then we are ambushed by the naga and their queen or whatever.

293ocyla

They attack the ship and we crash.  I stayed around hoping to see the ship explode but I’m not sure it did, and I had to keep up with the NPCs.

294ocyla

There was no way in heck I could kill all those naga, but Erunak easily does giant AOEs an takes care of it.

295ocyla

Cheater!  Then Lady Sira’kess mass deep freezes us and spends too much talking, and I didn’t see all of it but I believe she got a beat down too.

296ocyla

Then we get to see another big battle between Neptulon and the naga.  This is also the guy at the end of the Throne of Tides dungeon that you help save against “the bp oil spill” I mentioned earlier, and mobs trying to attack him.

297ocyla

Unfortunately at this point the naga bring out a Kraken and from what I saw, it kills Neptulon. I could be wrong.

298ocyla

Then a giant tentacle sweeps Erunak down into the vortex and Captain Taylor heroically goes after him.

299ocyla

I jump in also, I mean why not, and I don’t realize I cannot breath underwater at this point, and end up dying in the pool.  Whoops!
