“I prefer to wait for 25 people”

I log in and run a bg, which is AV and we lose.  79 honor.  The battles in here lately have been pretty fun though.

Later at night I try to queue for a BG and wait 13 mins and get nothing.  Odd.  Then I put on my PVE gear and queue for a dungeon.  While I’m waiting for that someone named Bananaslug tells me I have a great guild name, which by the way is “Bloodbathed and Beyond”.   Silverveil is still in Relentless, which is also a great name.   The dungeon takes quite a while to come up and it’s Pit of Saron. We lose one guy right away and a warlock takes over. The fight goes fine until the last boss where the stupid mage just stands there and does nothing the entire Tyrannus fight.  He was taking damage from the starting spot but I wasn’t about to run over there and leave the tank alone.   At least we get it though.

Afterwards it’s back into the PVP gear, queue up and get Isle of Conquest. We lose, 36 honor.  Queue again, same BG. There is much sniping in battleground chat about who is doing what wrong and all the insults start piling in. We’re playing badly, very much so.  However some of the fights go for so long, without me dying, I have to retreat and drink to get my mp back. We lost, I earn 66 honor. 200 HK’s.

I then run WG and we win it, and I do the majority of the calling out of stuff.  Recount shows I had 79% healing too.  I’d like to get a VOA at this point.  I get in one, so we’ll see how it goes this time. Getting enough people to do ANY voa has been a challenge lately. It seems to be a combination of less people able to participate in WG, most players taking a break until Cata, and now the addition of not many people hanging out in Dalaran.  No one  wants to wait like 20 mins for someone to come from Eastern Kingdom to do it either.

We’re only trying for the 10 man raid here and after about 5 minutes of waiting, 2 of the 7 people leave.  I am hoping Blizzard does SOMETHING about this area or it’s going to be a ghostland.    When another 5 minutes passes and we can’t even find dps… eeeh.  I wonder if this area is just being phased out.  Anyway all of a sudden several people recall that they did 25 voa, which now locks them out of 10, and 2 people leave.  That must have dropped last patch because I didn’t know that either.

Then another person drops because they ‘prefer to wait for 25’.  They will be waiting a very long time for that. We get the frost boss down no prob. I do most of the healing at 70% of healing done.  It really didn’t feel like anyone else was healing, at all. The other healer then admits they have 3k gs. We get all the bosses down however, because I rock, even with 9 people there. They also go on to say this is only their second time raid healing and they feel bad I did most of the healing (Branders is the healer btw).  I tell them I am use to pvp healing so this is very similar as far as speed and target switching goes and since we didn’t wipe it’s no worries.  I suggest they go heal in battlegrounds if they want to practice raid healing.

I get in and right away pop into a WG.  It was a lot of fun, I killed an orc hunter by myself and with the help of a shaman killed a paladin. Who I blew a kiss to but I forgot the name XD

We work together and communicate, helping defend the sieges and we take the fort back.

I join up for a VOA 25 only they get DPS and a few heals first and no tanks.  Then we have people saying stupid stuff like, I have a tank but I want to test my shammy dps. I say we need more dps like a hole in the head and go do that shit on a training dummy.  Then another guy says he has a tank that will be home in 5 mins, and about 15 mins later he says again they will be home in 5 mins.  I reply “5 mins, Turkish”

After all that fuss we wipe then everyone leaves. The problem appears to be healers, since only 3 people were doing heals. I asked if we can do a VOA 10 and the RL says they still want to do a 25.  I’m not waiting all that time again for another fail 25.  I leave.  40 mins totally wasted.

I queue up for a random dungeon and get boring old VH. Fortunately that is not fail.

After that I queue for a bg and get WSG. We lose that, 47 honor, and 2 killing blows for me. Rocking. I think rather than a holy off spec I’m gonna pick up the dps version of disc. I think I’ll like it.

I run a Strand bg as this spec, with my keybinds set up to mostly dps and some healing through penance, renew, shields, and will have to work in flash heal somewhere.  We win, 135 honor for me with 4 billing blows, 3 deaths, 21 HKs.  Not bad. I like this a lot.  Next one we lose, 46 honor, and my damage and healing is about equal.

I queue up for WG and get told to wait. I don’t get in.

I spend some time helping Maice get his Pilgrim achievements by getting turned into a turkey on some horde characters.

Later I queue again and have to wait, and get in when some walls are already down.  We end up losing the fort.

I run a WSG after that and we win, 3/3, I have 7 killing blows, 2 deaths, 71 HK’s and earn 113 honor.

After that is a EotS and we’re doing well but lose.  I think making larger  battlegroups, or just one (If forget what they did) helps a lot since we’re not always paired with solid pvp teams all the time now.  I think I ended up with like 40 honor. I love when people say “no one is healer” or “only so in so is healing” when I’m like the second higher in the entire BG and they don’t mention me.

I put off purchasing the PVP gloves for right now and buy a pvp off hand to replace my very old Shriveled Heart that I got in an ICC 5 man.  I still need an upgrade to my Royal Moonshround bracers that I put on the second I hit 80.   Doesn’t matter much with the expansion coming out soon but I’m still sore about not finding upgrades for those spots.  Using PVP items in PVE doesn’t make me happy.

Logged in and queue for WG, when I first popped in it was me and one other person.

but it worked its way up to 6 whole people later on.  It was very close, with the horde gathering up 6-8 vehicles at a time and nearly getting the relic door down, we end up winning with a combination of calling our incomings, people focusing on beating down the vehicles (which is easy with not enough people to defend the vehicles), staying close to the fort, with the minimum required to break down the towers.  So we won, but barely, but a win is a win.

Nearly me being in as a healer had a huge impact as I was the only one, and probably was a big part of our win.  Them not being able to be healed, and me healing people was a significant advantage.

I get in on another WG where we are defending and we’re doing better than ever now.  I run off more than once to start beating on a horde and receive assistance from several other ally  just in time to finish them off.

This mage got me once and then I ran after them later, and unfortunately for them they ran back towards me and into the loving arms of the Alliance and she was whooped down at least 3 times. We win, with the horde only making a token resistance.

Later that night I got on and totally forgot that we had a RS going on for Relentless.  We stand around trying to find people for like 40 mins which is my entire play time tonight.  Sigh.  I didn’t meant to raid tonight and I forgot I signed up. So we fart around not getting a tank for about an hour then call it.  Fine waste of time.

We decide to try for LK because they say the title will be taken out tomorrow, and claim we’ll get it no problem. The other priest complains we don’t need two disc priests so to prevent whining I switch to holy.  Despite the positive outlook, we   fail repeatedly during the Valks and Defile.  On the 5th or so attempt I get picked up, someone drops a Defile right under the Valk, and I get carried off and dropped to my death.

Shortly after the raid wipes again and I have to leave.  Pretty sure this is like my 100th fail raid, I mean really what are the chances? I may go play the lottery now. I log off in a bit of a huff.

My healing as holy wasn’t very high, but my overhealing was only about 20%, which in my experience is about 40% lower than what most holy priests do. I really don’t like to heal if nothing is incoming.

No one home?

I get in game and only one other person is on in this new guild and they are not talking. I queue with Leonz for a BG and get AB. A horde mage and druid are repeatedly running to LM over and over and someone says they are “AFKers” meaning BG bots. Sigh. We beat them off repeatedly and everyone is doing a great job of calling out incs, but we still lose. 64 honor. I purchased my pvp wand, which is better overall than the PVE one I had.

I try to queue up for WG but get please wait, then get invited to a guild run on my mage. I switch.

Get in a WSG group and we’re failing terrible and horde gets all 3 flags and us not even a single one. It’s one of those where you just want to say, just let them have it.  We’re stupid and don’t know how to play together. 36 honor on that one.

Next one is EotS and absolutely no one is communicating again and we are all over the place and lose horribly. I go and take Fel Reaver Ruins my freaking self and get to stand around listening to people say things like “inc mage”.  INC MAGE WHERE????  We lose, what a surprise.  29 honor.

AB is after that, and we are communicating which makes me very happy. Apparently this is part of an alliance pre made since someone from Ravencrest is saying “pugs” defend.  I really must start running premade because PUGS just make me angry face.  We win, I earn 4th highest honor at 145.

Then my un-friend Soulprince asks me to do the event bosses.  Well why not. We get in and he asks how to tank it.  We all get frozen shortly after and I die. We all die.

Soul says he can’t interupt because he’s a) busy tankin’ and b) not” looking” to interrupt anything. He tells the pally to stun the boss.  /facepalm.   We get it after much arguing about who is doing what. We end up getting it the second time however

After that we do the guy in AQ with no deaths.  I don’t get so much as a thank you for helping out. I scroll back up in my text in case I missed it, but rather than a thanks I see I missed this

OOOOOH!  That bugs me to NO ENDS even back in Lineage 2 when people would do that, in pvp especially.  I pm him and tell him I know what I’m doing he doesn’t have to tell me to heal.  I get a “srry” because it’s so hard to type an O but that’s it.  And for the record, I always thank tanks that run me through stuff as a favor.

Hm. Speaking of favors, I recall I do need the fire boss, so I tell him I still need the fire boss because I missed the quest.  This is only minutes after defeating the last boss he needed, mind you.  He said well I’m in my guilds ICC 10 cont.  That was fast, I say.  He says they are on Sindragosa and might get LK tonight.  I’ll slit my wrists if that guy gets it before me.

Later that night we get down Blood Queen on the second attempt, and amazingly one shot Sindragosa. Oh I’m feeling this tonight, I am!  Unfortunately the first tries at LK get NEARLY to 3rd phase then get worse and worse after that.  The 25 man folds.

I get in on the 10 man and the holy priest, who had very low heals, comes with too.  She doesn’t appear to be doing very much HPS but threw me under the bus about not dispelling her, even though she was nowhere near the horror.  She was at 2k, as holy, and I was at 8k at disc.  Go fig.  I couldn’t tell that she was healing anything.  During the 2rd attempt she rezzes, takes the sickness and DC’s with no warning.  We did not get a LK kill tonight, and it was so late we just gave up.  Not really upset about it though.

I end up dropping my current guild and join up with this one however, since I’ve been raiding with them anyway and our activity in the other one has been next to nothing for months.
